An artifact is a repeatable experiment. One notebook per device model. Running it books an experiment, attaches the device, sends every command that model accepts, records the whole thing, and tears it down.
What you download here is the notebook, not a recording. Running it produces a zip:
- a pcap of all traffic on the experiment's bridge, in both directions. tcpdump runs with no filter, so it is everything, not only what the device sent.
- the video from the cabinet camera watching the device.
- the log of which command ran when, so a packet can be matched to what caused it.
How to run one
- Download the notebook for the model you want.
- Open it in Jupyter and run the first cell, which logs you in to the testbed. It prompts for your SPHERE username and password.
- Run the rest of the cells top to bottom. They book the experiment, send the commands, and download the zip at the end.
Let it finish. The last cells tear the experiment down, and a notebook abandoned halfway leaves an experiment, a realization and an xdc allocated for a week.
